Individual diameter measurement
Individual roundness measurement
Individual roughness measurement
Optimal surface texture. The roughness of a ball describes the fine irregularities and texture on its surface.
Fine unevenness
Surface roughness
Surface structure
Processing quality
Continuous quality assurance is necessary. The roundness of a ball describes how evenly the surface of the ball is shaped in all directions.
Minimal deviations
Symmetry
Uniform surface
Precision
The size of a ball is crucial. The ball diameter is the distance through the center of the ball, measured from one side to the other.
Uniformity
Tolerance limits
Precise size
Measurement accuracy
The material of the balls influences their properties and suitability for various applications. The composition of the material is defined by the raw material producers or raw material certificates.
Corrosion resistance
Wear resistance
Hardness
Density
The material hardness of the balls describes their resistance to deformation and wear.
Abrasion resistance
Deformation resistance
Strength
Durability
During the manufacturing process, representative quantities of balls from the batch are tested for roundness, roughness, and diameter.
Upon request, the manufacturing data can be verified before the delivery of the order.
A representative quantity from the order will be re-measured for diameter, roundness,
and/or roughness.
Actual measurement of the dimensions of a ball.
Each can be selected either individually or in combination:
If you require detailed or more specific information in addition to the raw material certificate, we offer individual testing of the material. A wide range of procedures is available, from simple surface analysis (SEM analysis) to X-ray fluorescence (XRF) or inductively coupled plasma (ICP) analysis, particularly in the steel sector – we provide tailored solutions. Let us know how precise you need the analysis to be, and we will inform you about the appropriate procedure.
For the highest precision, we also offer DAkkS certificates. The scope of application of the measuring instruments is decisive. If you use the measuring instruments and standards for calibrating measuring devices, you should have them calibrated by DAkkS. For all other measuring instruments, a factory calibration is usually sufficient.
Our customers benefit from a variety of selection
and certification options:
For us, quality is paramount. We place great emphasis on quality assurance for balls and offer a wide range of quality controls. We provide various methods to measure roundness, roughness, and diameter according
to DIN 5401.
Additionally, we can have the material of our balls tested to ensure the highest standards. No matter what material it is, we always find the appropriate procedure. For tests we cannot conduct ourselves, we collaborate with established and certified partners.
Our calibration service is available to everyone, regardless of whether the ball was obtained through us or sourced from a third party.
